Monthly Image Challenge

Hello and happy Friday! I hope you've had a good week. I've been in a bit of a card-making funk lately.... I have had no mojo whatsoever! Sad, but true!
I am involved in a monthly card challenge with a group of ladies at SCS, where the challenge is to use the same image to make a card. This month our image came from Linda; Tilda is stamped on the prettiest shimmery carstock. Isn't she sweet? I must confess to having a fear of coloring Tildas, so this is the first card I have ever posted using one. I guess this challenge was good for getting me out of my funk, because I didn't want to flake and disappoint my friends!
Image: Magnolia
Ink: Sakura Black Gel Pen
Paper: PTI Kraft, SU! Marina Mist, My Mind's Eye "Abbey Road" DP
Embellies: SU! Marina Mist Grosgrain Ribbon, PTI Button/Twine/Felt
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, The Cat's Pajamas Cut-Ups Die, PTI Doily Die, EK Success 3D Dots
I am happy with the way this card turned out. I had the "bright" idea of shading around Tilda with pink; after I started I thought "oh no!" but I kept going and just rolled with it. In the end, I think it looks okay. It was a fun challenge; I can't wait to see our image for March!
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your weekend!

SC320: Lucky Changito

Good morning! I made time to work on the SCS sketch challenge yesterday. I love the challenges there, because I can use any stamp of my choosing. Changito is my "go to" guy, so I looked through my options and picked this little cutie...how about that tooth? Adorable!
I remembered that I had a scrap of some paper that I had previously used for a card kit swap; it was not a very big scrap, about 3 x 6 inches. (See 1st photo) It is such beautiful paper, with it's iridescent shimmer. I ended up piecing it to make it work. (I tried to capture the shimmer in the 2nd photo)
Changito is colored with pencils. I had planned to use a charm for embellishing, but decided I didn't like how that looked. I had already glued the image panel down when I decided to add the little shamrocks. Not sure how I am liking the placement, but had to roll with it anyway since it was stuck! LOL

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and True Black, Reminisce DP
Embellies: Bella Dots
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Spellbinder's Nestabilities
Thanks for stopping by today; I hope your day is a good one!

TMS#81: Folded Frame Cards

Good morning and "Happy Tuesday"! It's always fun when Tuesday rolls around, because we have another fun challenge from Melissa at Tuesday Morning Sketches! This week there will be no sketch...our challenge is to make a "Folded Frame" card. Click here to see a tutorial. Our sponsor this week is Stamp Fairy.

I choose my image from the "Freebies" section. I thought he was quite quirky and fun! I colored the little guy with pencils, cut him out, and then glittered up the turquoise areas. To finish him off, I used 2 googlie eyes...love those googlie eyes!

I used some really neat DP from Daisy Bucket Designs; I found it at a scrapbooking store for 25 cents a sheet! I just love bargains like that! Anyway, it has the nicest texture, and it's double sided.

Image: Stamp Fairy Digital Image
Sentiment: Stampendous "Changito in Space" Clear Set
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Black Marker
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Hawaiian Shores and Dark Chocolate, Daisy Bucket Designs DP
Embellies: Bella Dots, Marthat Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter, Googlie Eyes (Hobby Lobby)
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Scor-Pal, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, EK Success 3D Dots

When I was working on this card, my 10 year old son asked if this was a Suzy's Zoo stamp. Are you familiar with Suzy's Zoo? The images are adorable! I was surprised to know my son was familiar with them. After I finished the card, I asked what he thought.... He said he liked it, but indicated he was too old for a card like this! LOL I was thinking I was so clever to make a "little man" card...I guess my little man is growing up!

Check out the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with....now, it's your turn! I can't wait to see what you come up with (I would really love to see some cards made with this cute little image---don't forget, he's a freebie!). Remember, this week is a judged challenge so there's a prize up for grabs!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

With Hugs and Kisses

Good morning and "Happy Valentine's Day"! Today I have a card to share using supplies from a fabulous card kit sent to me by my Secret Sister. How fun is that? I have to tell you, this kit had so many goodies; included were this gorgeous DP from Making Memories and this adorable Penny Black stamp.
The image is colored with Prisma pencils and Goo Gone; her headband and heart are paper pieced and the dots are colored pink with a pencil. I wanted to keep the focus on the DP, so I embellished the card simply with a button and some twine.
The sketch is Jen del Muro's February Sketch For You To Try.

Sentiment: Stampendous
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Black Marker, White Gel Pen
Embellies: PTI Button and Twine

Secret Sister, if you are out there and happen to see this.... "Thank you" for a wonderful package; it really made my day!
Thanks for stopping by today; I hope you have a great day!

SC319: CAS Neopolitan Chicks

Hello! I know a lot of people don't eat as much ice cream when it's cold, but I am always up for ice cream...and cute chicks! Even when it's cold.... I keep wondering when it is going to warm up. It was below zero this morning again! Hope you are keeping warm wherever you are located.

Anyway, back to the card.... Today's sketch challenge on SCS turned out to be CAS for me, which was a surprise. Usually I do multiple layers with the sketches. The trick to this sketch was finding an image to fit the small panel; I knew I could resort to a sentiment, but then I remembered these chicks. They are colored with pencils and their eyes are dotted with a black gel pen. As I was looking through my stash for some paper, I came across this pretty pink pattern and thought it would be perfect; it reminded me of neopolitan ice-cream. The image is cut with a Spellbinder's die. I Cuttlebugged the background panel and added a bit of ribbon. It came together quickly, which is unusual for me.

Paper: PTI Vintage Cream and Dark Chocolate, KI Memories DP
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Sakura Black Gel Pen
Embellie: SU! Chocolate Grosgrain Ribbon
Extras: Crayola Colored Pencils, Spellbinder's Tag Die, Cuttlebug "Bubbles" Embossing Folder

Thanks for stopping by today! Stay warm! I'm off to make myself a cup of something hot....

TMS#80

Good morning! It's Tuesday and time for another sketch from Melissa at Tuesday Morning Sketches. Our sponsor this week is Digis With Attitude.

This sassy little gal is colored with pencils and accented with glitter. I tore a couple of paper strips, adhered them behind her boots, and added some glitter so it would look like snow. I flipped the sketch and used Spellbinder's snowflakes for embellishing. I think this card will be perfect for my stash; I think DD may like to use it for a friend some time.

Image: Digis With Attitude
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Baja Breeze and Soft Suede, Crate Paper DP
Embellies: Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter, Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter in "Polar Bear", Spare Parts Brads
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Spellbinder's Snowflake Dies, EK Success 3D Dots

Please hop on over to the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog to see what the rest of the DT has to show off...hopefully you can play along too!

I was going to make this a short post and then head back to bed; I woke up with a migraine yesterday and it's still with me today. I just realized that I forgot to make cards for the ladies in my stamp club and I am the hostess tonight. Ack! I already had a full day planned, including a haircut and grocery shopping for tonight's treats. I am planning to whip up a pan of vegetable pizza and a fruit pizza as well. Lots to do....

Thanks for stopping by; have a great day!

TMS #79

Good morning! I'm back with another sketch from Melissa at the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog. This one was a challenge for me! (Really, that is putting it mildly!) I really can't wait to see what the rest of the DT came up with.... Our sponsor this week is Inktegrity and since I love monkeys, I was happy to get Mikey to work with! It gave me a chance to use this fun banana DP....
First off, I am having a bit of trouble typing my post.... One of the kitties is on my lap and I really hate to send her away when she is so comfortable!
Back to the card.... The image is colored with pencils and the card is accented with ribbon and Bella Dots. Hmmm...I'm not so sure about the splash of pink.... What do you think? I am thinking maybe I should have colored Mikey's nose pink.... I just wanted to get some "Valentine color" in there.... Plus, I love pink!
Image/Sentiment: Inktegrity Digital Images
Ink: White Gel Pen
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! So Saffron and Regal Rose, PTI Dark Chocolate, DP (source unknown)

I hope to see you play along too this week, after checking out the rest of the DT's creations here.
