Winter Fun

Good Tuesday morning!  It's time for another sketch challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  Our sponsor for the week is Lil' Inker Designs and the image I'm working with today is from the Sugar Kissed Cottage collection; it's called "A Snowman's Soul".  I love the vintage flair!

I thought the image would go perfectly with a some Carta Bella DP that I've been hoarding...I love the muted  colors.  The image is colored with pencils, cut, and mounted with Spellbinder's dies.  I've added some embossing and a diecut snowflake with just a hint of subtle glitter.

The fun image is colored with pencils and double matted.  I had DP layed out, but decided that I liked the plain red CS better so it turned out CAS.  I embellished simply with a felt heart, button, and twine.

Good morning!  It's Tuesday, so that means I've got another sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches  to share with you.  Our sponsor for the week is Doodle Pantry.  I had purchased some cute digi sets not too long ago, so I went and searched my stash...today I went with some of their famous ants...there is just something about them that makes me smile!  This set is called Snowball Ants and came with outlines, pre-colored images, sentiments, and pretty papers.  I used the one of the pre-colored images along with the coordinating paper.  I did a bit of distressing, added some vellum, along with sparkly snowflakes for embellishing.

Hello again!  I'm back with a couple of cards made with our new January sets at Clearly Digi Stamps (Clear Dollar Stamps)...Charlie Horse and Mr. Spike.  I'm working with pre-colored images to day, but both sets come un-colored as well, along with coordinating papers and sentiments.

First I've used Charlie Horse...I have always loved this cheeky image and sentiment, so was glad when it went digital.  Now I can re-size as needed to suit my project.  I've used the barbed wire DP, which I have distressed, and added some brads, a button, and twine for embellishing.

Nest, I have used Mr. Spike.  I printed the image, along with some bones that I resized and cut out (they were added to the card last).  The image is layered with diecuts, and I've added a dry embossed banner along with some red brads for embellishing.  Look closely and you will see the mini bones on the DP...so cute and fun!

I chose the adorable Herb Love 3 to work with...thank you, Stamp Fairy!  Herb is colored with pencils, cut out, and accented with glitter and a tiny black button.  I diecut a heart border to "perch" him on, then added some ribbon to finish my card.

The image is colored with pencils and the candy wrapper is paper pieced and sponged.  I've added a crystal to the bow in her hair.  The papers are distressed and I have added a felt flower and ribbon for embellishing.

Smile Big

Good morning!  We have a new challenge, for the fortnight, over at Ruby's Rainbow.  My teamie Ang has chosen our challenge and she would like to see something that makes you smile or a smiley face...sounds good, right?!  I couldn't resist using this fun set from Technique Tuesday...it has the cutest assortment of stamps...I chose the silly smiley face to help remind me to take things in stride and not to take myself too seriously.

The sentiment was inked first with Versamark, then with Memento Tuxedo Black...I have found I get better coverage this way.  The smiley faces are stamped on DP and cut out...I added a bit of pink with a marker.  I finished the card with more patterned paper and a button/twine combo for embellishing.  I used Retro Sketch #44.

Image/Sentiment: Technique Tuesday
Ink: Versamark, Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Pretty in Pink Marker
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, PTI DP

I hope you will check out the rest of the DT's creations...they are sure to put a smile on your face!  You have 2 weeks to play along...so I hope you will do so!

Let It Snow

Good morning!  I'm back with a new, fun sketch for you from Melissa at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I think you'll like it...it's nice and versatile!  You can check out the details of this challenge here.

I couldn't resist the after Christmas sale that The Cat's Pajamas was having, so I placed a small order.  When I opened up the box, I thought that Alma had wrapped it up so cute...I just had to take a picture!

Okay, I had better get to business....  The penguin's beak and feet are colored with a pencil and I've added a bit of glittery "snow" under his feet.  I used one of my favorite "go-to" papers from my stash and did a bit of distressing.  For embellishing, I glittered up some snowflake diecuts.

Thankful Thoughts

Good morning and Happy New Year!  Did you sleep in this morning?  I am scheduled to work...lucky me!  LOL  Let's get to business, shall we?  It's time for a new sketch challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  Our sketch was designed by Melissa and our sponsor for the week is Floppy Latte, who let me pick this gorgeous image called "Ribbon Flair".  When I saw the pretty, vintage silhouettes, I knew I wanted to use one...the hard part was picking which one!   I love the vintage flair...thank you, Floppy Latte!

I resized and printed my image on DP; the sentiment is also stamped on on DP. I distressed the papers and added buttons, Swarovski crystals, and a felt flower for embellishing.  I wish you could see a close-up of the inside of the flower; I wadded up a scrap of black CS and glued it into the inside...it has some really nice texture.  I also added the swirl (from the right side of the diecut) to the felt leaf.
